Mario in Minecraft: World 1 – Level 1 in 3D
HOT!

Mario in Mineraft – Full level built and played in 3D

Here's a little mario Pixel Art I made using wool, water and wooden planks. It's actually a pool lolThe other nite I was thinking about what I could build in Minecraft that would be cool. I’d played hours and hours of Tekkit but I fancied going back to simpler times and installed Vanilla Minecraft on the Gaming Now Minecraft Server. I was playing Resident Evil 6 just a little while after going Vanilla in Minecraft and couldn’t help thinking that I wanted to get back to classic Resi gameplay too. It made me think “What other classic games I could put  spin on?” and the idea of building platformer Mario games in 3D with Minecraft came to me. I found the Super Mario Mod on the Minecraft forums when I looked for “Mario in Minecraft”, installed it into the minecraft jar file along with some dependencies, Vanilla didn’t stay that way for long lol.

Treyarch Call of Duty – Black Ops 2

Ever since 2007 when Infinity Ward brought CoD shooting and screaming it’s way into modern times, CoD’s been nothing short of a growing phenomenon year after record-breaking year. But after so long, the consumer has felt a little stuck in the mud in terms of the franchise progressing. The truth is, Call of Duty desperately needs to change.

Black Ops 2 Quadrotor

Black Ops 2 Quadrotor

Despite a consistently entertaining and superbly paced campaign, and highly polished multiplayer matches the host tens of thousands of players on a nightly basis while still running at an impressive 60 frames-per-second. What’s left after the smoke clears and the umpteenth helicopter killstreak has flown away? Treyarch Call of Duty Black Ops 2 is the first game in half a decade to answer this call.

Amazing Angry Birds Facebook Cover Photo – For GamingNow!

Angry Birds Facebook Cover Photos

I spent a bit of time the other day thinking about how to brand the Facebook page for this site. I didn’t know what to do with it or how I should design it. I wanted it colorful and vibrant, fresh and engaging. I started with abstract gradients, lines and vectors. Hand painted characters and game logos added to the effect but but the designs never felt quite right for the page. Nothing I done covered all the 4 design principles I wanted; colorful, fresh, vibrant, engaging.

There are some guidelines provided by Facebook about what you can’t include in the photo. Your not allowed to directly advertise something, like “40% off sale!” or “buy it now!”. You can’t ask people to click ‘like’ or ‘share’ or incentivize anyone to become your fan or visit your website. You can’t offer a ‘Call to Action’ either.

A pumpkin with a goomba carved into it from mario

Light up Goomba Pumpkin

So last year I carved a Goomba pumpkin. It was the very first time I had placed a design on a pumpkin, other than the standard “spiked mouthed pumpkin” that everyone has carved at some point. I learned a lot as I went and this year I plan on using better tools than a screwdriver! Don’t get me wrong it scraped off the outer layers of skin very well but it wasn’t quite accurate enough to get fluid lines and that showed in the finished pumpkin. This year I will have some better tools to get the job done and as such I suspect my design to improve greatly.

My Goomba pumpkin was carved only on one side. This year I am planning on carving both sides of 2 pumpkins. That is 4 designs that need to be decided and converted into a print style so I can trace the major points and cut it out. The designs are your choice! What do you want me to carve?

This will consist of 2 votes: the first is to decide what game and design to make. Then once a few designs have been picked there will be a second vote to decide the individual designs that I will carve.

Please leave your first and second choices in the comments section below to be entered into the vote.

Freddy Krueger comes to the nightmares of Mortal Kombat 9
HOT!

Freddy Krueger, the infamous child murderer from the Nightmare on Elm Street films is about to take his first steps into the world of Mortal Kombat. In the films Krueger was burned to death by an angry mob of neighbors following his child murdering antics. Kreuger then stalks and kills teenagers in their dreams for their parents killing him.

He will feature in MK9 with his trademark knife glove, his familiar red and green striped top and top it off his famous tattered hat.

He comes with his own unique moveset, two completely unique fatalities and a brand new story mode ending for the arcade ladder mode. In the first fatality Krueger tells them to be quiet, sticks his knifes threw their back throws them away and then bursts up behind them in a cloud of flames as they get back to their feet, knifes go threw the back again and then you both sink back into the blood filled hole Freddy bursts out from and then the blood erupts. In the second of the new fatalities Freddy produces a massive furnace/boiler and throws his enemy inside.

Here’s the official trailer

You will be able to stalk the dreams of the other Mortal Kombat characters come August 9th for $5 or 400 Microsoft points.

Supposed “News” that Gears is NOT coming to PS3

Why is it that every few months there is a massive shock news story about Gears of War NEVER coming to PS3? Why is that? Well one theory I read this morning is that it’s main reason is Sony’s relationship with Microsoft and Epic. But what the post actually cited as the main reason being that the main designer in the Gears franchise, Cliff Bleszinski does not like the Dual Shock controller.

Earlier this year Epic Games President Mike Capp said that he “Would Love” to bring Gears to PS3 but now Bleszinski claims he wants to “bury” the question of “Is Gears coming to PS3?”

“I would say in the foreseeable future there’s zero chances of Gears of War being on the PlayStation 3. Can we bury that now? Seriously. It’s like, we have a great deal with Microsoft, they’re a great partner…”

At that point he was interrupted and reminded that Capp said he would love to bring gears over but Bleszinski quickly cut them off with “It’s one of those things that would be exciting news. Hopefully DualShock would get tweaked a little bit, but anyway, enough about that.” Making it look as though he has a problem with Sony’s choice of controller system.

With all Gears titles Microsoft foot the bill for Marketing, saving Epic a hefty wee pile o’ cash making it far more worthwhile staying 360 eXclusive instead of moving to multi-platform.

As the end of the interview approached there was a mockingly sarcastic question from Bleszinski, indicating an obviously stupid question that he has been asked many times. IndustryGamers.com are right on the ball here. They say that this is the end of the Trilogy, not the end of the world. So Bleszinski thanked them for “not being dumb about that” and used his mocking voice to say “Is this the last Gears ever?”. He must be so sick of that question. Of course it’s not!

You can read the whole interview article here.

HALO 4!!!
HOT!

IT IS CONFIRMED!!! HALO 4!!! supposedly it is going to be an all new trilogy starring the chief (of course) it was confirmed at E3 along with the halo : combat evolved re-make. So far no halo campaign has compared with the original but 343 studios say they wabt to delve deeper into the halo universe  i’m not sure exactly what that means but im hoping it means theyre going to focus on the campaign instead.

Reach had an incredible multiplayer, but the campaign was lacking something special: the chief, and while noble 6 had his strengths no-one can compare to the chief when it comes to sheer awesomeness! So, lets hope it lives up to its expectations and isn’t another epic fail.

Halo 4 Multiplayer Pics
HOT!

Halo 4 is the upcoming shooter (FPS) game from 343i. They have recently taken sole control over the game from Bungie and are making some revolutionary changes. They are bringing back Master chief and some weapons. You face a new greater thread than before and there is a reason for why the Red guys are fighting the Blues guys!

Ok so I just post some multiplayer pics but what I noticed when I viewed them full screen a moment ago after uploading was that the set I had were pretty pixellated when I looked at them so I’ll get some more of them tomorrow for you. Here’s a few Halo 4 pics to keep you happy till I sort the multiplayer ones.

MW3 Elite Content Collection 4-6 Drops March 13th.
HOT!

Wake up soldier… Prepare for battle!

Drop 4: Black Box

Battle beside a downed Air Force One in “Black Box.” Multi-level homes overlook the neighboring streets, creating a deadly kill zone for players on the ground. With clear sight lines from house to house, however, snipers are far from safe, with counter-sniping an ever-present threat to their dominance. Those that prefer close-quarters combat can succeed in the tight confines of the crashed airplane or in hunting down enemies posted up within any of the surrounding homes.

Drop 5: Black Ice

Shred ice from aboard your snowmobile as you infiltrate a diamond mine in the Special Ops mission, “Black Ice.” Melt more than snow when you plant high-grade explosives to shut the mine down forever. This marks the first time Special Ops has been made downloadable online in franchise history.

Drop 6: Negotiator

Cash in all your karma as you head to India for high-stakes hostage extraction in “Negotiator,” an all-new Special Ops mission in which you’ll breach-and-clear rooms and navigate surface streets to secure the safety of your VIPs.

Watch the official trailer here.

All of this multiplayer and special ops goodness will be available for download starting March 13th on Xbox Live for Call of Duty ELITE Premium members.

Non-premium Call of Duty ELITE members can still look forward to new content with Modern Warfare 3 Content Collections, including maps, modes and other features previously released through content drops. The first Call of Duty: MW3 Content Collection 1 will be available for purchase on March 20th for Xbox Live users.
