The Best of Gaming Now in 2012

Well it’s almost the end of 2012, 343 Industries officially took over from Bungie as the creators of Halo; Franchise games like FIFA, Need For Speed and CoD were released, Mobile and Tablet gaming continued to grow thanks, in part, to the quickly progressing speed, power and graphics capabilities of Android hardware; The 3DS officially overtook the PS3 in sales in Japan – and the Mayan end-of-the-world theory didn’t happen after all.

As a site owner (and geeky data analyst) I looked at the data of the year as a whole to determine 2012′s top posts. I seen what trended in the year of gaming and which games won out over their competetors but even throughout the year I noticed a few surprising things happen with the most popular posts on the site. Some things performed better than expected and some under-performed but all in all it seems that writing my own high quality content is the way to move Gaming Now forward into 2013.

The Chief, The Blue and the Ugly

The Master Chief and Cortana have been adrift on the UNSC Forward Unto Dawn for over 4 years. The Chief has been in chryosleep for much, if not all, of that time. Upon John’s awakening by Cortana he discovers they are beside the planet Requiem and being drawn in – interestingly this is the planet seen in the Legendary ending for Halo 3. Cortana informs him that the ship has been boarded and while investigating the ship it crashes down on Requiem.

Facebook Timeline Cover photos

I’m building a collection of game themed Facebook Timeline cover photos for you to use for your profiles and pages. If you don’t know what a Facebook Timeline Cover Photo is – it’s the profile top banner that you, your friends and Facebook Pages now have on their Facebook Profiles.

I made an Angry Birds Facebook Timeline Cover for the Gaming Now! Facebook page a while back that included me in the profile picture actually pulling the slingshot back. I have more ideas that include the profile picture like me as a Pokemon trainer and me pulling out the Master Sword but what I’m sharing today is a collection of the coolest gaming themed Timeline covers that I’ve found online but check back soon for some of the more interactive timeline covers that I’m working on.

The collection features Angry Birds, Halo, Zelda and a few from other games.

This one is nice and simple, it’s just the red Angry Bird. If you want a different bird just Google image search for the particular one you want, there’s cover facebook timeline variants of this for every coloured bird but I like the classics and I’m a bit of a red angry bird fan.

Playing video games and eating cupcakes goes hand in hand. Playing games and most snack foods work well together but I came up with an amazing combination. I made some game themed cupcakes. Angry Birds cupcakes, Mario cupcakes, Halo cupcakes and more! I will be making more of these very soon. I’m going to do some for game releases: Halo 4 being one of the ones that are definitely on the list. I made a few of these fairly quickly without any earlier thought as to what the designs were gonna be; in fact I didn’t even plan on making anything fancy at all, just ice the cupcakes. Instead it ended up turning into something pretty amazing. I hardly wanted to eat these but they were oh so tasty!

Halo 4 Wallpaper Pack 1 update located here

I wanted a Halo 4 wallpaper for my computer so I downloaded a few. I’m uploading these wallpapers for you to have too. I’ll go through and credit the original creator if when I can find out who made them. Halo 4 is released November 6th 2012 on Xbox 360 by 343 Industries and Microsoft Studios. 343i Have recently taken complete control over the Halo games, being released from the original creator – Bungie. The first Halo game was Halo: Combat Evolved released for the Original Xbox and it revolutionized the console based first person shooter genre.

IT IS CONFIRMED!!! HALO 4!!! supposedly it is going to be an all new trilogy starring the chief (of course) it was confirmed at E3 along with the halo : combat evolved re-make. So far no halo campaign has compared with the original but 343 studios say they wabt to delve deeper into the halo universe i’m not sure exactly what that means but im hoping it means theyre going to focus on the campaign instead.

Reach had an incredible multiplayer, but the campaign was lacking something special: the chief, and while noble 6 had his strengths no-one can compare to the chief when it comes to sheer awesomeness! So, lets hope it lives up to its expectations and isn’t another epic fail.

Halo 4 is the upcoming shooter (FPS) game from 343i. They have recently taken sole control over the game from Bungie and are making some revolutionary changes. They are bringing back Master chief and some weapons. You face a new greater thread than before and there is a reason for why the Red guys are fighting the Blues guys!

Ok so I just post some multiplayer pics but what I noticed when I viewed them full screen a moment ago after uploading was that the set I had were pretty pixellated when I looked at them so I’ll get some more of them tomorrow for you. Here’s a few Halo 4 pics to keep you happy till I sort the multiplayer ones.
